Have You Ever Wondered, Why Do We Learn About Standard Of Living, Well This Is Why...
It is important to learn about standard of living because if you plan on moving to a different country you may want to know what the standard of living is like in the country you want to move to. Say you want to move to a country that has beautiful beaches and has cheap housing. Their is one problem. This country has terribly low health. Say they have .5 doctors per 1000. And their GDP per capita is $3,000. You would not want to move to this country, but if you did not learn about standard of living, you might have moved here and struggled with meeting your needs and wants.
Economics and Standard of Living can be analyzed by the 5 themes because location has a lot to do with what a country's standard of living is. Region can affect how a country makes its money. If it is a native american region they may make their money in a more traditional way like growing crops.

5 Themes of Geography My Maps and Responses Labels - social studies, 5 themes of geography
It helps them better understand the connection between people and earth by allowing them to see how we use the earth, where things are in relation to other things. It helps clarify and helps us focus on the things we already know it just increases our knowledge. I think that movement is the hardest theme because it was pretty hard to find how ideas were moved and how different ways goods were moved.

My strengths and weaknesses in basic map skills
I find the continents and oceans easy because I travel a lot. I know all the continents because I have been to four of them and want to go to the rest of them. I really liked learning about them in fourth grade.
I struggled most with coordinates because I have a hard time lining up the coordinates, and I usually get Longitude and Latitude mixed up and get the coordinates wrong.
Basic map skills are necessary because they help you to be able to read and understand a map. If you are ever lost, and all you have is a map, if you don´t know how to use it you are in trouble.
